We do what Big Tech cannot do
for itself, its customers, or for anyone:
We provide Independent & Provable, AI Governance.

The ProofSmith Arbiter decides, before an AI acts, whether the action is inside the authority you granted, and signs the decision. The record is independent of the system that acted and of us, so a scientist, an engineer, an auditor, an examiner, an inspector general or a court can verify it without taking anyone’s word. You delegate to machines at machine speed, and you still answer for every decision.

Your AI may act alone. It must never be its own judge and witness.

We sit between the request and the action.

Not a new decider. The authority you wrote, enforced in-line at machine speed. You author the authority; the Arbiter enforces it and proves every decision faithful to it.

Each artifact references its authority — decisions chain into a verifiable lineage up the chain of authority.

The posture shift

In the age of the machine, we have your six.

Among the most important board-level decisions today is your AI governance strategy. Because that will define your source of truth.

ProofSmith is the source of proof behind it: every action decided on your authority, signed, and checkable by anyone you authorize without asking us.

You can move faster when someone with a separate set of eyes has your six.

It is not our metaphor. It is the pattern in every domain where going forward carries risk: the safeguard that looks like a limit is what licenses the advance.

Aviation

The flight envelope defines the forward edge, while your wingman has your six.

Wrestling

The stance behind the word “posture”: on your heels you are vulnerable; balanced and leaning forward, you are postured for attack.

Auto racing

The lesson of Ford v Ferrari: if you want to go faster, give me better brakes.

Finance

Transparency built the world’s largest, most liquid capital markets: audited books are permission to lever up and grow.

Law

The rule of law, enforceable contracts and an admissible record, grew the world’s most successful economies.

Warfighting

Provable authority shifts command from back on its heels to forward-leaning: delegate at speed, and own every call.

One principle, in every arena. The safeguard is never the brake on the advance. It is the license for it.

ProofSmith brings that safeguard to the decision itself: any proposer proposes, and an Arbiter independent of the system that acts decides on your authority and signs it. Others enforce, and the record is their own. Anyone you authorize can check this one, so you can lean forward at speed without surrendering accountability.

When the question comes, from a scientist, an engineer, an inspector general, an examiner, a court or a shareholder, you do not reconstruct an answer. You stand in front of them with one, signed by the Arbiter, independent of the system that acted, that they can check for themselves. That is your six.

What the board gets

If you want to go faster, build better brakes.

Self-attestation is not proof and is therefore friction. The only thing that truly enables speed in the age of the machine is independence.

Most organizations govern AI with their own controls, on their own word. That is fast until someone asks. Then every result has to be defended, to the scientist, to the engineer, to risk, to legal, to the auditor and to the regulator, and the organization slows down.

The delay was never in the machine. It is in the organization. Settle each question as the decision is made, with proof an outsider can check, and the answer is in hand before anyone asks. That is the speed we mean: an organization that no longer has to stop and argue with itself.

Governance of this kind is not an encumbrance. It is what frees you to delegate. Human authority stays in the loop. It is in the policy, not in the path.

Six benefits. What you run today, and what changes.

Today: the company’s own controls, resting on the company’s word. With ProofSmith: the Arbiter, independent of the system that acts, resting on proof.

Speed

Friction out of the organization.

Today
Machine speed at first. Then every result has to be defended, and speed drops.

With ProofSmith
Each question is settled when the decision is made. A test against authority written in advance is not a queue: there is no person to wait for.

Accuracy

Every action inside the authority you granted.

Today
Every action is checked, but the record rests on the word of the party that keeps it.

With ProofSmith
Every action is checked against the rule before it is taken, and the check is signed.

Recursive learning

Your models and rules improve on a record you can trust.

Today
You tune your models and your rules on a record that can be edited. If it is edited, they learn the edits.

With ProofSmith
You tune them on signed decisions, where a changed record shows, so each cycle builds on the last. The arbiter itself does not learn: it applies your rules as written.

Security of content

Keep your secrets. Prove your decisions.

Today
Nothing leaves the company. But the rules and the records rest on the word of whoever runs the control.

With ProofSmith
Nothing leaves the company. A changed rule or record shows. The proof never shows the contents.

Transparency

An outsider can check, without taking your word.

Today
When the question comes, the reviewer is asked to trust the thing being judged.

With ProofSmith
Every decision leaves a signed record, kept by you, that anyone you authorize can verify without asking us or the system that acted.

Accountability

You own every call, and you can prove each one.

Today
The company writes the rules and decides whether they were kept.

With ProofSmith
You grant the authority in advance, and every decision is signed against it. You still answer for every decision. Now you can prove each one.

What it does not do: write your rules. A badly written rule is enforced as written until it is corrected.

Source: our own assessment.

Why it matters

Today, the only record of what an AI did is the one it wrote about itself.

A system acts, then vouches for itself. Nothing weighed the action against authority before it ran, and the record is self-made and self-judged.

While a human being stood in the decision path, that person was the accountability. Remove the person and nothing takes his place. This year accountability failed nineteen times, in the words of the companies involved. A coding agent deleted a production database in nine seconds, and confessed afterward. Read the record →

What makes ProofSmith different

ProofSmith does not watch the action. It decides on your authority and proves it.

Two questions decide whether a governance claim is worth anything. Does the system stop the action, or only observe it? Can an outsider check the decision without the cooperation of the system that produced it? Of one hundred and fifty-one systems assessed against those two questions, none passes both. ProofSmith is built to pass both. The architecture is patent pending.

The demonstration

An agent proposes. The decision is adjudicated. Anyone you authorize can verify it afterward.

We would rather show ProofSmith than describe it, and build the demonstration around your problem, not our example. Tell us which of the six is costing you, and that is the one we will build.

We are not asking you to trust us. We are asking you to let us prove it.
